A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE COLLEGE

In 1992 a few local intellectuals of suliapada block of Mayurbhanj District felt the necessity of setting up of a degree college in this backward sub-plan area to promote Higher Education. The long cherished dream of this locality ultimately materialized by the active co-operation of the people of local are. In 1992 the college got permission for Art stream with 128 seats in ENG,MIL,(O),Hist.,pol.sc.,Eco,Edn,& Oriya.The college has been successfully catering to the needs of higher Education of the people not only of Mayurbhanj but also of adjoining districts of Odisha since its inception 1992.After many sleepless Nights the institution saw the dawn and received Grant-in-Aid in 20.01.2009.Over the years the institutions has grown from the strength of strength and glory to glory by adding fresh feathers to its cap of success.In 2012-2013 the college got permission for increase of seats from 128 to 160 in +3 Arts opening of Hons.Education in +3 Arts and opening of of Hons. Mathematics in +3 Science and opening of new subject chemistry ,Botany,Zoology(CBZ)and in 2013-14 the college got permission for opening of Hons.History in +3 Arts and increase of seats from 32 to 64 in PCM(+3 Science). In 2015-16 the college got permission for increase of seats of +3 Arts from 160 to 224 and in 2016-17 got permission for increase of seats of +3 Arts from 224 to 256 with Honours-English,pol.Science,Eco, Odia and increase of seat of +3 Science PCM from 64 to 96 & CBZ from 16 to 32. The college has been growing its branches since its inception . In Aug 2011 the college got 2(f) & 12(B) status from UGC. The institution has distinction of having highly qualified faculty members. Keeping the page with fast growing world the institution has adopted innovation practice to fulfil the growing needs of the students The college aims at providing the Quality education , building character and conduct of the student and moulding all round Development of their personality through various extensive service and healthy practices.
